DBFC’s performance as a team was not very good this time, the officials of the AIFF appreciated the talents and skills of our boys praising our boys for their potential to do better then other players. We failed to qualify due to lack of experience. The teams we played with are far experienced, they have already played many times at the same level, teams like Mumbai united, Gwahati town club are formed before India’s independence For our bad luck most of our key player’s suffered chicken pox rite after the 1st match and goalkeeper got his shoulder dislocated. However we retained our level in the 2nd div which being a basic criteria for participating in any tournaments at par to I league and others organised by AIFF. We hope to do better in the next I League 2nd Div. and other tournaments in the future.

Welcome to Denzong Boyz Football Club of Sikkim

Undoubtedly, Sikkim has been producing talents in the field of football and the word Sikkim and Football are synonymous to each other, to the people of our country by virtue of  players like the Late Pem Dorjee Bhutia who captained the Indian national football team in the pre-Olympic tournament held in 1982 at Malaysia. He was among the first few player from the Sikkim to have got chance to play in club football at Calcutta when he played for Mohammedan Sporting Club in the 80s followed by Bhaichung Bhutia whose contribution to Indian football is indescribable.

However, in the past, few ones who are fortunate enough to have good backings are capable of getting chance to play with the top clubs like Mohan Bagan, East Bengal, ONGC, Air India etc. of our country.

Sikkim has been blessed with many such talented players who are deprived of timely exposure and proper training that would fetch them opportunities to play in the mainstream league of India.

This prevailing fact is apparently driving away the interest of the youth from this game in the state where football has been celebrated in every nook and corner. It also has been observed that people’s interest towards football is declining at an alarming rate in our state.

Realizing the need to revive an interest in the football game and inflict awareness to the youth of our state we the Denzong Boyz  Football Club (DBFC) a wing of Denzong Welfare Association, has been formed in the year 2008 with a clear and simple motive to promote our local talents by training them and giving exposures in the field of Football and produce many more Bhaichung’s for our Country.

The word Denzong means the valley of Rice in one of the Sikkimese language and Sikkim is also called Denzong by the Bhutia tribe of Sikkim

We the  Denzong Boyz Football club consists of a bunch of football lovers who are professionally Engineers, Doctors, Social workers, sports trainers, school teachers etc. We make our club active by self contributions and sponsorships we get from small companies here and there.

Our goal is to make our club play India’s top league i.e. ONGC I league and groom local talents to represent our country in the years to come, for which we highly solicit sponsors, endorsements from generous institutions without which our dream might not be fulfilled.
